Greese

Grease is a semi-solid lubricant composed of a base oil, thickening agent, and additives, formulated to provide friction reduction and wear protection in mechanical systems. It acts as a barrier between moving parts, reducing friction and heat generation while preventing metal-to-metal contact and wear. The base oil, typically mineral or synthetic, provides lubrication, while the thickening agent, often a metallic soap or complex calcium or lithium compounds, gives grease its semi-solid consistency. Additives such as antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, and EP (extreme pressure) agents enhance grease performance and longevity.
